Events Manager
The successful applicant will be responsible for the marketing, management, development and administration of our external Events and Functions activities, as well as some occasional involvement with internal activities.
The Union is run by an elected board of student members, who, together with a permanent administration staff, make up the infrastructure of the organisation. This creates a vibrant and energetic atmosphere to work in, where no two days are the same.
The role includes the creative marketing and development of our functions activities. Responsibilities include financial control and reporting, staff recruitment for functions activities and their management, ensuring profitability and maintaining health & safety standards, etc; organisation and supervision of all functions, and the promotion and growth of the Union as a prestigious venue.
We are looking for candidates with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as the role requires interaction with a diverse range of individuals. Applicants should be enthusiastic, self motivated, creative & have a good foundation in marketing and hospitality activities with definite hospitality experience, and commitment.
Although this is a part-time post, the Events Manager works hours as necessary to meet with prospective clients, arrange events and liaise with other Union staff but will also be expected to be present to supervise all events personally and will be expected to work as reasonably necessary for the performance of his/her duties.
