Ticket Terms & Conditions

In addition to any 'event specific' terms, it is agreed by dint of purchase that all ticket purchases are made under the following terms:

All events, at the Union or elsewhere:

  • Tickets are Non-Refundable / Non-Transferrable
  • The Union reserves the right (a) to cancel or change the event due to circumstances beyond its control;  (b) to refuse to serve alcohol to intoxicated persons
  • The Union is not responsible for loss or injury etc to persons or possessions etc caused by participation in this event.
  • You MUST bring your Membership Card with you to gain admittance.
  • Admit One (unless otherwise stated, eg team events)
  • Member is liable in full for any charges levied by the Society resulting from their own or their guests' actions and/or behaviour, and may be expelled or refused entry for unacceptable or disruptive behaviour at the discretion of the organisers
  • Non-members agree to be bound by the Rules of the Oxford Union whilst on the premises

Events outside the Union:

  • As above;
  • The Union is not responsible for loss or injury to persons or possessions etc caused by participation in this event.
  • The Union accepts no responsibility if members miss the coach there or back.
  • You MUST bring your Membership Card with you to gain admittance.
  • Admit One.
  • Member is liable in full for any charges levied by venue/coach company resulting from their own or their guest's actions and/or behaviour.
  • Non-members agree to be bound by the Rules of the Oxford Union Society whilst attending this event.

Foreign travel events:

  • As all above;
  • Travellers must be in possession of a valid passport. 
  • Visas are required for country of destination, and any country through which travel will be made to achieve destination (eg France for Amsterdam etc) if the traveller belongs to a country outside the European Union.
  • Insurance/visas etc are the responsibility of the traveller.
  • Travellers are reminded it is their own responsibility not to miss the coach, and the Union will not be held responsible for any cost incurred thereby.

Ticketed speaker/debate events etc:

  • As all above;
  • Printed on the ticket will be a time by which all ticketholders MUST take their seats.  After this time, seats will not be held, and will be allocated to those waiting in the queue on a first-come-first-served basis.  The Union reserves its right to so re-allocate seats after this time, with no reparation for loss of seat or any other allied expenses.

 

TICKET PURCHASE PROCEDURE

Members may purchase tickets for up to 3 other members (ie 4 tickets in all) only PROVIDING they bring the absent member's membership card to the office. 

Cheques are to be written to The Oxford Union, and MUST have the cheque guarantee details on the reverse (ie card number and expiry date), together with the Union membership number of the cheque writer
