Lord Patten

  • Event Start: 2nd November 2017, 5:00pm
  • Event Type:

Chancellor of the University of Oxford

Lord Patten has had a uniquely diverse impact on both national and international politics over the course of his career.  Having served in the House of Commons, as Chairman of the BBC Trust, and as Chancellor of the University of Oxford, he has long sought to provide an independent, guiding voice in his work to support these fundamental institutions of modern British society.  In addition, he is distinguished in his role in the handover of Hong Kong to China in 1997 as the territory’s final Governor, and will doubtless offer a rare perspective on the future prospects of the iconic former colony
