| Description | This Event has been postponed until next term - Apologies to members David Blanchflower CBE is a leading Keynesian economist. He was an external member of the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee from June 2006 to June 2009. Blanchflower was the subject of media attention over the vacation following the publication of his proposal that wealthy students should pay university tuition fees of up to £30,000. He writes regularly for the New Statesman; one of his most important publications was The Wage Curve, an investigation into the relationship between unemployment and wages. It was praised by The Guardian as “one of the most devastating findings of contemporary economics.” |
