| Description |
Iain Banks is an award winning Scottish writer who writes both mainstream and science fiction. In 2008, The Times named Banks in their list of "The 50 Greatest Writers since 1945". He has written articles for newspapers such as the Guardian and New Scientist. Active in left-wing politics, he campaigned to have Tony Blair impeached after the Iraq War and notoriously cut up his passport and posted it to 10 Downing Street.
