Description	US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Court of St. James's since July 2009. Prior to being appointed to the position by President Obama he had a long career in law and banking, eventually retiring as Vice Chairman of Citigroup last year. He also undertook many public service roles throughout his career, including serving on the Democratic National Committee between 1972 and 1982 and earned the nickname "The Vacuum Cleaner" for his ability to raise campaign funds.
