IBM Watson, the Oxford Union’s First Non-Human Guest, at the Oxford Union

  • Event Start: 25th May 2016, 9:00pm
  • Event Type:
IBM Watson is a cognitive technology platform which represents a new era in computing: by understanding natural language and generating hypotheses based on evidence, Watson processes information more like a human than a computer, through senses, learning, and experience. Watson continuously learns over time, gaining in value and knowledge from previous interactions. In a historic event, we will be joined by representatives from IBM to discuss the technology behind Watson, and the history of how it came to be, from the grand challenge of competing on "Jeopardy!" to supporting clinicians. They will also discuss what the future holds for artificial and augmented intelligence. This event is in Partnership with the IBM Watson Division. RANDOM BALLOT FOR DRINKS: The ballot will close at 12:00 on Tuesday 24th May.
