JOIN THE OXFORD UNION'S COMMITTEE Applications are now open for Trinity Term 2017 Appointed Committee Positions. To apply for one of the positions (role descriptions are below), please fill out this form by 23:59 on Saturday 4th March: https://goo.gl/forms/LuJKiVQkinRdSYqB3 RESEARCH OFFICER: Find contact details, assist with invitations, and hand write letters for some of the Union’s highest-profile speakers. Working directly with the Librarian and Senior Researcher. PARTNERSHIP OFFICER: Raise money for the Society and strengthen revenue streams. The Union regularly attracts major sponsorship deals, which you will have the opportunity to work on. Working directly with the Treasurer. GUEST LIAISON OFFICER: Meet and shadow guest speakers during their visit to Oxford. Opportunity to attend pre-debate dinners and post-debate drink receptions. Working directly with the Director of Guests and Chief of Staff. LOGISTICS OFFICER: Assist with the logistics of all speakers, panels, debates, and social events – from preparing rooms for official use, to helping with speaker transport and accommodation arrangements. Working directly with the Chair of the Consultative Committee and Secretary of the Consultative Committee. PRESS OFFICER: To manage a team of Deputy Press Office to maintain relation with the media on a student, national, and international level by offering coverage opportunities, and arranging interviews with Union speaker. PRESS OFFICER: Work to maintain relations with the media on a student, national, and international level – our events consistently attract coverage from the largest media organisations, such as Sky News, the Economist, the BBC, and Bloomberg. Working directly with the Director of Communications and Chief of Staff. ACCESS OFFICER: Promote access and wider participation within the Society and its committees. Leading the team of officers below, and chairing weekly meetings of the Access Committee. LGBTQIA+ OFFICER: Represent the needs of LGBTQIA+ members and the wider LGBTQIA+ community within the Society. Working directly with the Access Officer. ETHNIC MINORITIES OFFICER: Represent the needs of ethnic minority members and the wider ethnic minorities community within the Society. Working directly with the Access Officer. DISABILITIES OFFICER: Represent the needs of members with disabilities and the wider disabilities community within the Society. Working directly with the Access Officer. WOMEN'S OFFICER: To represent the needs of members who are women and the wider women's community within the Society. GRADUATE OFFICER: Represent the needs of graduate student members within the Society. Working directly with the Access Officer. INTERNATIONAL OFFICER: Represent the needs of international student members within the Society. Working directly with the Access Officer. BROOKES OFFICER: Represent the needs of members from Oxford Brookes within the Society. Working directly with the Access Officer. Interviews will be conducted in person or over the phone during 8th Week of Hilary Term.
