Independent 2016 Presidential Candidate

McMullin is a former CIA operative who, in 2016, ran in the American Presidential election as an independent Conservative alternative to Republican candidate Donald Trump.  McMullin garnered over 21% of votes in his home state of Utah, and amassed national support from critics of Trump.  In 2017, McMullin founded Stand Up Republic, a nonpartisan organisation dedicated to upholding democratic ideals in Ameria
