Goodall is a British primatologist and anthropologist, considered the world’s foremost expert on chimpanzees.  For over 60 years, she has continuously studied the social and family interactions of wild chimpanzees in Tanzania.  She is the founder of the Jane Goodall Institute, a global conservation organisation known for its community-centred programmes.  She was named a UN Messenger of Peace in 2002, and made a DBE in 2004
