Economist - Author of ‘Why Nations Fail’

Acemoğlu is the Elizabeth and James Killian Professor of Economics at the Massachusetts institute of Technology (MIT).  He has taught at MIT for over 25 years and is known for his work on Political Economy - he co-authored a highly influential book Why Nations Fail with James Robinson in 2012.  Acemoğlu was awarded the John Bates Clark Medal in 2005, as well as many other awards throughout his career
