David Dunning is an experimental social psychologist, professor, and author. His research focuses on the psychology underlying human misbelief. In his most widely-cited work, the “Dunning-Kruger Effect”, he showed that people tend to hold favorable opinions of their competence that cannot be justified from objective evidence. This phenomenon carries many implications for health, education, the workplace, and economic exchange.
